Avoid your ambulance from getting lost

In an emergency the operators will need your location. Traditional address systems can sometimes be confusing or hard to pinpoint because post codes can sometimes cover a wide area, a person may live in a new build where the street or house hasn't been registered, or a person may be out walking their dog in a rural area that has no landmarks. This app, called What3words, is therefore really useful to download (free of charge) on your mobile phone. 

With what3words, you get an exact location in seconds - Every 3 metre square has been given a unique combination of three words. These 3 words can be given to the operator, which they input into the app and it will help the ambulance to locate the casualty to the exact 3 metre square they are within.  It will help an ambulance to find you more easily and not to get lost. In urgent situations, every second counts!

This makes it a live saver when it comes to emergency services, allowing them to respond quickly and accurately.
