This course enables employers and employees to meet their legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. It provides vital knowledge to help prevent accidents and ill health in the workplace for employees, customers and contractors.

The qualification can be tailored to meet the needs of the business and / or the individual.We will provide you with the learning material required with the most current and relevant information available.Courses can be undertaken either at your own venue or one which we can provide.

Who should attend?

All staff members

Course duration

It is held over six hours (one day) and recommended this qualification is refreshed every 3 years.

Course content
  • Roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
  • Risk assessments contribute to health and safety.
  • How to identify and control risks from common workplace hazards.
  • Know the procedures for responding to accidents and incidents in the workplace.
Assessment and Certification
  • A nationally recognised accredited Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF) certificate issued by an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation Qualifications Network UK (QNUK) will be awarded to successful candidates and valid for three years.
  • Candidates will sit a 30 question multiple choice paper (pass mark 20 out of 30)
Maximum course numbers
  • No more than 12 delegates

Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment

Level 2 Award in Principles of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

This course will enable learners to understand the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace, highlight employer and employee duties relating to substances at work.

Who should attend?

Employees who are responsible or exposed to hazardous substances.

Course duration

It is held over six hours (one day) and recommended this qualification is refreshed every 3 years.

Course content
  • The law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace
  • How risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace.
  • Understand the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure the risk associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled.
Assessment and Certification
  • A nationally recognised accredited Level 2 Principles of COSHH (RQF) certificate issued by an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation Qualifications Network UK (QNUK) will be awarded to successful candidates and valid for three years.
  • Candidates will sit a 15 question multiple choice paper (pass mark 10 out of 15)
  • No more than 12 delegates

Level 2 Award in Fire Safety for Fire Marshals.

Fire and smoke are killers and also causes loss and damage to productivity and business. Employers need to provide adequate fire safety training for their staff to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Who should attend?

All staff members and those nominated to perform the role of a fire marshal.

Course duration

Four hours and its recommended this qualification is refreshed every three years.

Course content
  • Fire Safety Principles
  • Hazards and Risks associated with fire in the workplace
  • How fire risk is controlled in the workplace
  • Principles and practice of fire safety management at work
  • The role of the nominated fire warden
  • The content of a fire safety briefing
Assessment and Certification
  • A nationally recognised accredited Level 2 Award in Fire Safety for Fire Marshals (RQF) certificate issued by an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation Qualifications Network UK (QNUK) will be awarded to successful candidates and valid for three years.
  • Candidates will sit a 30 question multiple choice paper (pass mark 20 out of 30)
