First aid at work requalification

Course content:

-         Understand the role of the first-aider
-         The importance of preventing cross infection
-         Recording incidents and actions
-         The use of available equipment
-         To act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
-         To deal with an unconscious casualty
-         Administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
-         Choking
-         Wounds and bleeding
-         Shock
-         Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries
-         Injuries to bones, muscles and joints including suspected spinal injuries
-         Burns and scalds
-         Eye Injuries
-         Sudden poisoning
-         Anaphylactic  shock
-         Recognise the presence of major illness
-         Provide appropriate first aid for heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and diabetes

Maximum course numbers

In-house courses require a minimum of 3 candidates and a maximum of 24 candidates (provided there is enough room). 2 trainers will be provided for larger number.
